Pastor Tom Fries

We welcome Pastor Tom Fries to our congregation and look forward to experiencing his ministry with us.

June Worship and Preaching

On the first Sunday we will once again examine Paul’s letter to the Galatians.  Paul shared part of his background and how he advanced as a Jewish leader.  Everything changed once he encountered Jesus.  God never wastes an experience.  How might God use each one of us with our own unique life experiences?

The following week, we return to Luke’s gospel where we find Jesus as a guest in the home of one of the religious leaders.  A woman anoints Jesus’ feet causing quite a stir.  Jesus pointed out that persons who have experienced a powerful sense of forgiveness are more thankful than someone who fails to acknowledge his/her own sin.  Our challenge is to show gracious hospitality to everyone that we meet.

On Father’s Day (and my last sermon) we return to the apostle Paul where he teaches that Christ has justified and set us free.  We need not feel the burden of the law that through Jesus we are made right with God.  The passage ends with the powerful verse that all earthly and human distinctions melt away as Paul states, “for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.”
