All Saints Sunday - November 6

posted Oct 29, 2011, 11:19 AM by Lois Kerchner
All Saints Sunday is always a special day in the life of the Church. On this day we remember by name those saints who have died during the last year. At an appropriate point in the Communion liturgy, persons in the congregation will also have the opportunity to name out loud the name of saints who have influenced your life.
The author of the book of Hebrews states: ―Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight and the sin that clings so closely, and let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us…‖ (Hebrews 12:1) The special saints in our lives continue to inspire us as we continue to be faithful to our Lord Jesus Christ.
All Saints Day provides us an opportunity to give thanks to God for their lives and examples, realizing that they continue to inspire us today.
If you would like the names of special people who have died during the past year to be included in liturgy please call the church office by November 2.
