Many will remember Amanda Morehead as she grew up in our church.  Amanda brought the morning message at both worship services.

The Mission’s Team  hosted a luncheon at 11:30 to provide everyone the opportunity to personally speak with Amanda.

She spoke about her YWAM ministry.  She has been involved with YWAM as a full time missionary since 2009 and is now a full time staff member at the YWAM in Madison, Wisconsin. Her involvement has taken her into some places and situations that most of us would consider very dangerous including a red light district in Atlanta (when she was serving at YWAM Atlanta) to shed light on human trafficking here in the United States!

Amanda recently completed a six-month Bible School for the Nations (BSN) at YWAM Madison which included ‘about 500 hours’ of Bible study from classroom learning and directed studies.  The outreach phase of the BSN took her to The Democratic Republic of the Congo and Tanzania where she was involved in training over 100 pastors and leaders in those countries.  She helped teach basic biblical truths through the “Biblical Education Leadership Training” (BELT) seminars.  As she wrote in her recent newsletter:  “The topics that I taught were on the value and design of people and the destructiveness/heart of sin.  It impacted my life a lot as I had to process the topics in my own life.”

Even though most of us are not ready to minister in red light districts or the Congo, let’s be prepared to support this hard-working young missionary by our prayers and financial support!

While our church supports Amanda’s ministry, we also collected a special offering to help with her work.
