Christ the King Sunday Nov 25

Christ the King Sunday is both the last Sunday after Pentecost and the last Sunday of the Christian year.  It is the culmination of the Christian year.  The following week, the First Sunday of Advent, begins the Christian year all over again.
The observance of Christ the King Sunday helps smooth the way into Advent and the expectation of Christ’s return in glory.  We have more than just a cute baby in a manger; we have a sovereign Christ.  One of the traditional hymns we sing each year on Christmas Eve, “Joy to the World,” reminds us that, “The Lord is come: let earth receive her King.”
