Cookie Sale to Combat World Hunger Dec 12

As you read this article, December is here and your plans for the holidays are probably underway.  You may want to add baking cookies to your list of things to do, as this year our church will not be selling cookie trays.  But please mark your calendars for Sunday, December 12.  That is the Sunday when special envelopes will be distributed and collected for the “cookie” fund raiser.

Each $15 donated (the cost of a tray of cookies) provides 250 meals of a rice based product called Vita Food to children in Haiti and parts of the US.  This food is distributed through Cross international and Blessings of Hope to children at their school and may be the only meal they receive that day.  This also encourages them to attend school and with increased education, may lead them to a way to break their cycle of poverty as well as fight against malnutrition.

When we last sold cookie trays two years ago, we raised enough to provide 26,625 meals.  Well done all you cookie lovers!  Let’s see if we can provide as many meals this year – or more – through your generous donations.

If you will not be attending church services on December 12 to receive your special envelope for your donation, you may donate by following the directions below.

Mail check/money order payable to “The Cookie Sale” to:  Cookie Sale, 533 Janet Ave, Lancaster, PA  17601

Place check payable to “The Cookie Sale” in an envelope designated “The Cookie Sale” and place in our church offering plate.

Thank you in advance for your caring and generous donations.
